The Art of Hope covers the past, present, and future of Wadoka Academy, an after-school karate program that is located in Toronto’s Jane and Finch, the most famous ghetto in the world. It features extensive interviews with Wadoka’s Sensei, Colin Ninvalle, along with his protege, Carlos De Leon, and the teacher candidates that were tasked with working alongside Wadoka to help achieve the program’s vision. Narrated by director David Rouben, who offers the perspective of a teacher candidate, gives viewers an inside look at a year in the life of Wadoka Academy.
